I was hoping to send a short note about our campaign before the day got away from me. Thank you for reading.

Here's the truth: when we launched this campaign, I wasn't sure what to expect. But the response we've seen over the last year -- and since I won my primary last week -- has been overwhelming.

And that depth of support from people like you is not something I take lightly. This is an important race. The result will make a very real difference in the lives of people in Maine and across the country.

So my pledge to you is that we are going to work hard every day we have left. We are going to talk about the issues that matter most to the people of Maine and we are going to empower our supporters to do the kind of big and important work it will take to win.

Because the truth is, I cannot do this alone. We are taking on virtually the entire Republican Party establishment and powerful special interests who will spend what it takes to protect Susan Collins and preserve the status quo.

And that means it's critical we get this general election campaign off to as strong a start as possible. So I'm asking you personally:

Can you make a contribution to support my campaign now that I am the official Democratic nominee? It's so important that we are able to hit the ground running now that the primary is over.

We aren't taking corporate PAC money in this campaign. Instead, the vast majority of our donations come from lots and lots of people giving small amounts of money. So thank you in advance for chipping in to move us forward.

Have a great rest of the day,

Sara
