This is it. This is the fight you’ve been looking for.
Donald Trump is commanding the entire GOP with militant loyalty. When he ordered red states to redraw their congressional maps to be as deep red as possible, they answered his call.
But despite Democrats still playing catchup, there have been signs of hope, renewal, and resistance.
In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom has led the charge to redistrict that state’s congressional districts and draw maps that will add 4-5 new Democratic seats AND make formerly competitive seats much safer for Dem incumbents.
Virginia Democrats have signaled they will do their part next year to redistrict. But the success of this effort is far from guaranteed, and it won’t be enough to neutralize MAGA’s advantage.
Meanwhile, Republicans have already squeezed out 5 new red seats from Texas; eliminated one solid Dem seat in Missouri and turned it deep red; stole 3 competitive districts in North Carolina and made them Trump districts.
And another big one is yet to come: Florida MAGA Republicans are foaming at the mouth to get in on the action and pack Dems into a handful of districts to extract another 3-5 seats.
Democrats are currently completely outgunned for this war. But that’s why we are here: Colorado Draws The Line is standing up and fighting back. We are leading the ballot measure to redistrict blue Colorado—and if we get the support we need to succeed, we could flip 2 or even 3 GOP-held seats.
