We’re approaching the New Year, and in my line of work, it’s an important time to set goals for when my colleagues and I return to Washington to support President Trump’s agenda.

Before I left town for Christmas break, a reporter stopped me and asked me if I had a New Year’s resolution. My answer was simple: “I have twelve, actually. Passing all twelve appropriations bills.”

We have to get our fiscal house in order. Despite our successes this year in cutting massive government waste, fraud, and abuse, Democrats continue to obstruct the process at every turn. We have much more to do. However, fiscal discipline isn’t our only goal for 2026.

It’s also important that we continue confirming President Trump’s nominees as quickly as possible. In 2025, we changed the rules to fast track nominees at a record pace. In the New Year, we’ll continue to confirm groups of nominees that number in the hundreds.

Lastly, my colleagues’ and my goals for the New Year must match YOUR priorities. Whether it’s lower costs, strong U.S. national security, more affordable health care, or all of the above, I want to know what your priorities are for 2026. You’ve sent me to Washington to be your fighter. Now’s a chance to have some input in what we’re fighting for in 2026.
