At the Ridglan puppy mill, beagles live in misery:

• Shoved into tiny cages — until their paws throbbed and bled from wire floors, according to witness testimony.
• Operated on without anesthesia and by lay staff for cherry eye. Former employees said puppies would “yelp” and “thrash.”
• Held in filth. Inspections found accumulated waste and squalor at the facility.

And that’s before they even arrive at the lab.
