This is pretty fascinating research.

According to a recent study, genes in the human body not only produce
Vitamin D from sunlight, but those same genes may also produce a natural
sunscreen. While this isn't to say that you don't need any kind of
additional protection, there are some interesting ways you can increase
your body's ability to protect your skin.
