Elburn, IL - Tuesday morning, December 30th, 2025, Elburn Mayor and Illinois 11th Congressional Candidate Jeff Walter received the heartbreaking news that his father, Winfried Hellmuth “Win” Walter, passed away early that morning. Jeff was very close with his father, and was lucky to have been able to spend the weekend with his family visiting his father, days before his passing. Win often remarked on how proud he was of his son, and his hope to be able to attend his son’s swearing in ceremony in Washington, DC if elected.

Jeff and his family are thankful for the outpouring of support from friends and neighbors during this difficult time. Jeff will return to the campaign trail soon, and thanks everyone for their understanding as he takes this time to be with his family.
