John,
They say to look for the helpers in times of crisis. And, when you do, you’ll find people like Marian Smith.
Marian found her calling while serving as a C-130 flight medic in the Air Force Reserves. After a decade in the service, she studied to become a nurse — helping and serving those in need was the only thing she could ever imagine doing as a career.
And, today, despite the great risks of working as a nurse on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, Marian remains steadfast in her commitment to being of service. Like so many service members and veterans, she has dedicated her life to making this country a better and safer place.
This summer, we’re honoring veterans like Marian by flying American flags right in our own yard. Each flag in our field shows veterans that we are grateful for the incredible sacrifices they have made. And each flag provides essential support for DAV’s free services that help 1 million veterans each year.
Will you help us FILL our field by making a gift in honor of the great sacrifices our veterans have made?
