We are closing out another month — and drawing closer to the moment when I step into the office of Lieutenant Governor on behalf of every Virginian who believes in justice, dignity, and a brighter future for our Commonwealth.
But here’s the truth: the real “day one” of this new administration isn’t in January. It’s right now.
The work we do in these next weeks will determine how effectively we can lead on the issues that matter most: fully funding our public schools, protecting reproductive freedom, reducing gun violence, strengthening our democracy, expanding affordable housing and health care, and ensuring that every family has the chance to thrive.
I’ve spent my life in the classroom, in communities across Virginia, and in the Senate fighting for these values. I’ve seen the challenges our families face, and I know how urgently we must act. But none of our goals are possible without the resources to build a capable, prepared, and energized administration from day one.
