As we welcome 2026 with friends and family tonight, I’d like to thank everyone who has stepped up to make the work of NCLEJ possible. As a public benefits attorney, I can’t stress enough how your donations enable me and the rest of the NCLEJ team to bring high-impact litigation and secure major victories for low-income people who are struggling more than ever.
We need to keep our eyes on the ball in this fight. Food insecurity is rising across the country thanks to SNAP processing delays caused by agency dysfunction and punitive food restrictions. And in the new year, we expect the Trump administration to do even more to cut people off SNAP benefits. NCLEJ has the tools to fight back – but we are limited by current financial resources.
As national leaders in SNAP litigation, we are fighting to dismantle unlawful barriers to accessing SNAP in Alaska, Georgia, Missouri, and New York. We want to bring the fight to even more states, but we need your help to do that.
This work is difficult, meaningful, and an absolute necessity for the low-income communities that we serve. I hope I can count on you to help us rise to the urgency of this moment.
The National Center for Law and Economic Justice advances racial and economic justice through ground-breaking impact litigation, policy advocacy, and support for grassroots organizing. We have provided legal representation and support since 1965.
