John, it's Brad reaching out to wish you an early Happy New Year and asking for your help before the ball drops in Times Square tonight. 

Our End of Year Fundraising Deadline is TONIGHT, our first big quarterly deadline since we launched this campaign, and we need $16,217 more to reach our goal!

But before I ask you to help us get there, let me quickly remind you of the why of this campaign. 

I'm running for Congress because this moment in history calls for a different kind of Democrat. From the beginning of this campaign, we need leaders willing to do what's right for this city — who are willing to take on anyone, to fight, not fold. 

Donald Trump is abducting our neighbors off the street. He's ripping healthcare away from hardworking Americans to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. He's eroding the foundations of our democracy.

Strongly worded letters and high-dollar fundraisers with lobbyists and DC insiders aren't going to cut it.

In this moment, we need Democrats who will fight Trump's authoritarianism by showing up. By organizing with their neighbors. By putting their bodies on the line. 

I know this is the kind of campaign that can meet the moment. And this is one of our first big chances to show people that. When our fundraising numbers go public in a few days, journalists, the opposition, and pundits across NYC and the country will take our 21 days of fundraising as the first big sign of strength. That's why meeting our goal is so important.
