Team, we’ll confess something to you: Since 1994, Texas Democrats have allowed on average about 50% of open seats to go uncontested, leaving millions of Texans without the option to vote for Democrats below the top of the ticket.
Not anymore. This is a new era for Texas Dems.
Texas Democrats have officially filed candidates in every State House, State Senate, U.S. Congressional, Statewide Judicial, and State Board of Education race for the 2026 cycle — the first time in modern Texas history any party has put a full slate on the ballot.
We’ve collaborated with our friends in places like Texas Majority PAC and ground-level orgs and officials across the state to recruit one hundred and four brand new candidates who are fired up, passionate about their communities, and ready to do the work.
Being a brand new candidate is tough. They need to pay for materials and ads to get the word out, deposits on campaign HQs, and hire staff that’ll support them every day until Election Day. So we have to fund and support every single one of these incredible Democrats who stepped up to the plate when the challenge was laid before them.
