And just like that, a quarter of a century has passed, and we are in the final countdown to 2026. This past year brought us a new administration, a new Congress, and many new members to the Roosevelt Conservation Caucus (RCC). It also brought momentum for energy policy and permitting reform.
This year we were pleased to welcome Sen. Sheehy (MT), Sen. McCormick (PA), Rep. Maloy (UT), Rep. LaMalfa (CA), Rep. Kiggans (VA), Rep. Bresnahan (PA), Rep. Lawler (NY), and Rep. Newhouse (WA) to the RCC. The RCC is a bicameral group of lawmakers who are focused on advancing conservative solutions to our nation’s energy, environmental, and conservation challenges. We continue to host monthly meetings with the caucus and are excited to work with all of our members, new and seasoned, in advancing common-sense solutions.
We have also welcomed Tony Kreindler, founder and president of The Brookmont Group, to our Board of Directors as well as Michael Ulica, former President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of the National Geographic Society. With their broad experience and range of knowledge, we know that they will make many important contributions to ConservAmerica.
December brought the first major step in permitting reform with the U.S. House’s passage of the Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act. A much-needed step in the right direction, the SPEED Act seeks to modernize the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to help streamline the permitting process and return the law to its intended purpose. We thank RCC member and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-AR) for his leadership on this issue and look forward to seeing the Senate take the next steps.
We are grateful for another year filled with meaningful conversations, insightful commentary, and positive policy shifts. Our mission remains focused on offering conservative, common-sense solutions to today’s environmental and energy challenges.
We thank you all for your support this past year; we could not do this important work without you. If you value the work ConservAmerica is doing, advancing practical, conservative solutions that strengthen our economy while protecting our natural heritage, we invite you to consider supporting our efforts. Your financial contributions help sustain our policy work, expand our outreach, and ensure that conservative voices remain at the table in shaping the future of energy, conservation, and environmental policy.
We hope you all are enjoying this holiday season, and we wish you a safe and happy New Year.
Sincerely,
The ConservAmerica Team
