Sorry to reach out on New Year’s Eve, but I need to ask a quick favor of you.

The worst part of this job is asking
people for money. I hate making these requests. But the reality is
billionaires and corporations are funneling unlimited sums of money to
Donald Trump and Republicans in exchange for whatever favors they need
from their regime.

I’ve spent this year trying to lead the fight against this corruption and
build an effective grassroots opposition. That’s why I turned my
fundraising operation into a mobilization fund that would put resources to
work immediately fighting back.

Every major Democrat has millions in their campaign account. The threat to
democracy is big enough that we need to be funding mobilization and
messaging right now — not just banking money for the next election.

I hope my efforts this year have made you proud to be part of this team.
But this fight is far from over, and Trump and his allies are hoping that
the grassroots energy and opposition to him has subsided. They want to
lull all of us into a sense of normalcy about what is happening.

Look, I wish money didn’t matter. I would love it if I never had to ask
you again, but this deadline and your support really do matter for our
