It is a good time to be a socialist. We believe it is our responsibility to always continue fighting for justice. Racial, Environmental, and all other forms of justice. That is why it is more important than ever to continue organizing and continue fighting. We have seen great leadership in Akron from the Trans Rights Rally's to the Akron Minority Council and we are excited and inspired by our fellow comrades and would like to make sure we let everyone know of things happening around Akron as well as upcoming Akron DSA events:
Peaceful Protest at the Akron Art Museum Thursday, July 23rd at 11a-3p.
- We stand in solidarity with Akron Art Museum Accountability in their struggle to demand change from an institution unchecked against discrimination and toxic work environments. Join AAM Accountability tomorrow at 11a! Social Distancing and proper masks are required for this event.
Akron DSA General Meeting - Thursday, July 29th at 7p
- We will discuss current Akron organizing efforts around racial justice and trans rights, review workplace rights during the ongoing pandemic, hear working group updates (including Eco-socialist), and vote on the bylaws rewrite! All interested individuals with good intentions welcome.
Trans Rights Rally - Saturday, August 8th at 2p
- We stand in solidarity with the organizers of this event. There will be a gathering in Waters Park to share stories, hear from speakers, as well as a name change clinic hosted by TransOhio. Social Distancing and proper masks are required for this event.
Akron DSA Political Education Working Group Meeting - Wednesday, August 5th at 7p

Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden stands accused of sexual assault. Members of the Democratic Socialists of America demand that he leave the race. This is a movement built by the DSA Feminist Socialist Working Group demanding Joe Biden drop out of the presidential race.
