Before the year ends tonight, I wanted to speak to you directly —
not as a candidate, but as someone who understands what this moment
means.
When I was a child, I was kidnapped and forced to live under Saddam
Hussein’s regime in Iraq. I spent years separated from my mother and
sister, living without freedom, without a voice, and without any
certainty that I would ever come home.

Eventually, I did come home — because my mother never stopped
fighting for me. And because America still stood for something worth
fighting for.
After 9/11, I felt called to give back to the country that saved my
life. I walked into a recruiting office and enlisted in the United
States Air Force. I went on to serve across the globe, advise senior
leaders at the Pentagon and National Security Council, and rise to the
rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard. I’ve seen how
Washington works — and how badly it fails working families when
career politicians stop listening.

I love America — not just because I was born here, but because I
know what it’s like to live without freedom.

COULD COST YOU YOUR LIFE, AND YOUR FUTURE WAS NOT YOUR OWN.
When I finally made it back to America at 12 years old, I promised
myself I would give back to the country that never stopped fighting
for me. That’s why, after 9/11, I joined the Air Force.
For over 20 years, I have served this country in the Air Force and
rose to become a lieutenant colonel. I protected America’s interests
abroad, advised senior military leaders, and defended the freedoms too
many take for granted.
