Dear friend,

This is the final day of 2025 and the last hours to make a gift that will propel harm reduction into the new year with strength and momentum. How we finish the year is crucial, because it determines how we enter the next one. Starting strong has never been more important.

Today marks an immense opportunity to shape the future. The decisions we make in these final hours mold how we show up for people who use drugs and for communities harmed by structural inequities, including racism, poverty, housing instability, stigma, barriers to healthcare, immigration status, anti-queer and anti-trans policies and narratives, and gender-based oppressions. Every crisis we are facing will still be here tomorrow, and with your support, we will be ready.

Across the country, syringe services programs (SSPs) are fighting to stay open. Peer workers are doing lifesaving labor while battling stigma and lack of funding. We cannot wait to save lives from overdose, and end the epidemic that disproportionately steals the lives of Black, Latine/x, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and unhoused communities.

NHRC will meet these challenges in 2026.

Your gift today does something real and immediate. It will:
-Get naloxone into people’s hands
-Pay peer leaders, whose expertise keeps people alive
-Defend and strengthen SSPs through advocacy and capacity building
-Fuel the fight against progressive policy rollbacks, criminalization, and injustices that have already taken too many lives

As midnight approaches, please make a gift that ensures we enter 2026 with the power and resources this moment demands. Give because you know, as we do, that no one is disposable. Our work and our communities cannot wait. Thank you for standing with us tomorrow by supporting us today.

With urgency and deep gratitude,
