Housing in cities like Vancouver and Toronto has become much less affordable.
When you have a growing, prosperous city, housing will inevitably become less affordable... right?
Not necessarily, according to a new Fraser Institute study released today.
The study measures changes in housing affordability in 396 cities in Canada and the US.
It finds that in US cities that experience rapid population growth and rising incomes similar to Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, housing actually became more affordable.
