Hi, ACLU Supporter, it's Omar Jadwat and Lee Gelernt, director and deputy director of the ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project. As the year winds down, we want to share an update on our impact defending immigrants' rights.

We knew that this year would be difficult. President Trump was clear about his horrifying mass detention and deportation plans on the campaign trail, but that doesn't make it any less heartbreaking. From the moment he took office, his attacks have been relentless. Thanks to the support of people like you, so has the ACLU's response.

Now, looking forward to 2026, we must keep our foot on the gas. That's why reaching our $2 million goal before midnight tonight is so important. Can we count on you to make a gift before the clock strikes midnight, ACLU Supporter? <[link removed]>

Over the past 12 months, our legal team has worked to defend:

* the birthright citizenship of babies born in this country

* families' rights to remain together, challenging the Trump administration's inhumane family separation policies

* the right to safely seek asylum

* the right to due process

* the right to criticize the government no matter where you are from

* the right to be treated with dignity and humanity during every step of the immigration process, including when being held in a detention center.

Meanwhile, our organizers have also taken to the streets to protest ICE snatching our family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers from their communities. And our advocates have educated and empowered tens of thousands of people through Know Your Rights trainings so impactful that the head of border enforcement complained how disruptive they've been to ICE raids.

ACLU Supporter, none of this would be possible without your support. And with the Trump administration's attacks only escalating, we know we'll need you more than ever in 2026.

In the year ahead, we anticipate more attacks on birthright citizenship, more attempts by the Trump administration to separate immigrant families, more inhumane raids, and even larger-scale efforts to undermine due process.

That is why we are asking: Will you please rush your donation now to help reach our goal by midnight and ensure the ACLU has the critical resources needed to sustain the fight of our lifetime in the year ahead? <[link removed]>

You are a vital part of the ACLU's work. Thank you for all you do,
