Matt Gaetz has been caught in yet another massive ethics violation and misuse of taxpayer funds.
An investigation by Politico uncovered that Gaetz has secretly been using taxpayer money to pay his friend for “speech writing” — a direct violation of House ethics laws — and using a shell company to hide them.
On top of that, the friend Gaetz is paying is Darren Beattie, a known white supremacist and former White House staffer who was forced to leave the Trump administration after speaking at a white nationalist convention.
Politico also revealed that Gaetz spent taxpayer money to hire a private company to build a TV studio in his dad’s house, which Gaetz uses when he appears on Fox News. In fact, every time Gaetz goes on TV taxpayers foot the bill to rent the cameras from the same private company. Gaetz has refused to identify this company or how much he’s paid them.
This is not the first time Gaetz has been accused of an ethics violation. As a matter of fact, it is the second time this year he’s been caught using taxpayer dollars for personal use and to enrich his friends.
