Hi John,
As we mark the last day of 2025, I’d like to share some reflections on a book that I read this year. Imagination, a Manifesto, by Ruha Benjamin, was recommended by a youth panelist on an Economic Justice webinar that we held in collaboration with Grantmakers for Thriving Youth. The book was incredibly powerful, but this line really resonated with me -
“Without new visions, we don’t know what to build, only what to knock down.”
-Robin D G Kelly
New visions are the core of TYP’s work. It’s our superpower. It’s what keeps me in the work in difficult moments- knowing that young people can and must lead the process of defining what we’re fighting for, not just what we’re fighting against.
Today you can help fuel the new visions we’ll work towards in 2026.
Your gift - $5, $25, or $100 - helps us reach our $5,000 goal and ensure we go into 2026 with the resources we need. [[link removed]]
In 2026 your funds will help support:
In-Person Convenings
Stipends and Financial Resources for Young Leaders
Publishing our ND4Y Legislative Package
Liberation through the Arts
I’ll close with another quote from Imagination, a Manifesto:
“The battle over real power tomorrow begins with the struggle over who gets to dream today.”
-Alex Rivera
