FINAL HOURS: We are 80% to our December goal—your 2x matched gift could put us over the top by midnight. >> [[link removed]]

Hi John,

Today is the last day to have your gift matched dollar-for-dollar for the Boundary Waters— and the stakes couldn't be higher.

The past few months have proven that the watershed of the Boundary Waters is still at grave risk of dangerous and risky mining—and 2026 will bring even greater challenges.

The Boundary Waters needs every defender right now. Renew your support before midnight to double your impact and help us safeguard the Boundary Waters in 2026. If you’re able to make a final year-end matched gift, it will go twice as far in defending the Boundary Waters through the critical fights ahead in 2026. >> [link removed]

Why is this so urgent? Because the threat is real and the damage would be permanent:
🚨 100% of copper mines pollute. There has never been a sulfide-ore copper mine that hasn't resulted in pollution. The Environmental Protection Agency has deemed hardrock mining America's most toxic industry.
🚨 Pollution spreads. Because the Boundary Waters is a vast network of interconnected lakes and rivers, toxic waste would not stay contained. It would travel downstream through the watershed, affecting Voyageurs National Park, Quetico Provincial Park, and eventually flowing into Hudson Bay.
🚨 The damage is permanent. If sulfide-ore copper mining is allowed to pollute this pristine Wilderness, the damage will last for generations. There is no second chance. No clean-up that could restore what's lost.

Some places are just too important—we can't allow the most toxic industry in the United States next to the most-visited Wilderness.

P.S. Polling shows that a vast majority of Minnesotans are on the side of protecting the Boundary Waters and are not willing to sell the Wilderness to the hardrock mining industry. Join them and make a matched gift today >> [[link removed]]
