As a Coloradan, I'm proud to say, for the first time ever, Colorado will have an independent redistricting commission. It's one of several states across the country that have taken giant steps toward fair maps since 2011 by enacting redistricting reform. But this is only the beginning of the work.
Citizen-led redistricting commissions help put power in the hands of voters, not politicians. But whether or not these commissions are successful depends on whether people apply, who those commissioners are, and whether the commissions are defended from partisan attacks.
This is where our Commission Education Fund comes in. The fund supports team members like myself as I help folks determine if they might be eligible to serve and navigate the upcoming application process.
You can be a part of our commission education efforts in states like Colorado, Arizona, and Wisconsin by supporting this fund. Pledge a $7 monthly donation right now -- just $1 for each congressional district in Colorado -- to help power our Commission Education Fund.
