Happy New Year from our family to yours! We had a memorable 2025 with both boys thriving in school and attending summer camps for the first time, giving the parents a little bit of freedom. Karen closed out her second year leading the PTO and I marked a new chapter in my Navy career, transitioning from 7th Fleet in Riverside to 3rd Fleet in San Diego.
2025 highlights from top to bottom, left to right: celebrating Mt. SAC championships; visiting my grandfather in Taiwan; receiving commendation from R Katie Sheldon; Weaverville Joss House; Mt. SAC advocacy in Sacramento; Washington DC; Public service panel at Harvard 25th reunion
Mount San Antonio College continues to rack up recognitions; we were named the top two-year college athletics program in the country and our forensics team also won the national championship. Our Early College Academy continues to produce high school graduates with Associate degrees, and we have created new pathways for Mt. SAC students to earn bachelor's degrees in nursing as well.
Finally, we were fortunate to have some very meaningful family travel experiences this year, including visits to the Mayflower landing site, Whitney Plantation, and the Freedom Trail. We enjoyed a road-trip across California seeking remnants of redwoods and the Chinese railroad workers who used them to tie our country together.
We are ending the year in Taiwan, celebrating my grandfather's 100th birthday in a wonderful family reunion attended by all of his descendants. In a difficult and chaotic year, we are so thankful to have friends and family who keep us grounded and focused on what is most important. We look forward to a more promising 2026 and wish you all the best in the New Year.
