Dear John,
In November, I had the opportunity to visit members of our Urgent Action Fund community on the West Coast, including my dear friend and UAF supporter of twelve years, Saskia de Jonge. With her sister Anneke, Saskia matched donations made to our end-of-year campaign this year, helping us raise thousands of dollars for frontline feminist activists. I am so grateful for her and honored to share this heartfelt note from her.
Dear UAF Community,
Like many of you, I've been exhausted by the relentless cycle of bad news. But here's what keeps me hopeful: the activists UAF supports who are doing the patient, essential work of building more equitable and just communities at the grassroots level.
Throughout my life, I have seen how locally-led solutions are the ones that actually stick. Real transformation comes from people on the ground who are rooted in their communities and have the courage to act—people like the feminist activists UAF supports.
That's why UAF's rapid response model feels so vital right now. When a door opens or danger strikes, activists can't wait for grant cycles. UAF moves at the speed of trust—getting resources into the hands of frontline leaders within days, honoring their wisdom and vision.
But it goes deeper than emergency funding. UAF invests in collective care for activists so they are bolstered by love and have access to spaces of rest and healing. Because movements aren't just built on urgency; they're built on care that doesn't let people burn out, on practices that help them stay whole for the long journey ahead.
In this political moment, both here in the United States and around the world, we must nourish the people building the future we long to see, one community at a time.
Will you join me ([link removed]) in supporting UAF before the end of today? Whether it's $25 or $2,500, every contribution helps activists move quickly when it matters most. Make this your last tax-deductible good deed of the year.

With hope for what we can build together,
Saskia de Jonge
UAF Supporter
