Greetings Friend,

I have some exciting news for you!

In 2026, nearly every unresolved federal question about medical cannabis converges at once:

- Appropriations that protect state programs,
- New hemp restrictions that could disrupt access for millions of patients, s
- Scheduling decisions that risk being treated as “mission accomplished” or could be blocked from happening at all

And healthcare rules that can open doors we have been dreaming of for decades!

But our dreams could quickly turn to nightmares if we start 2026 without the resources we need to leverage this moment for patients.

That is what makes this news so important:

All gifts made before January 15th are matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $250,000, to support ASA’s federal advocacy in 2026!

<[link removed]>Double Your Donation Impact Now! <[link removed]>Your matched gift will immediately strengthen the work you already helped make possible:

<[link removed]>And continued push for integrating cannabis into our healthcare systems through a national medical cannabis program!

Americans for Safe Access keeps advocacy grounded in facts:

December 18, 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order titled “Increasing Medical Marijuana and Cannabidiol Research,” marking a milestone shaped by decades of patient advocacy and scientific progress. While some news coverage has overstated its immediate impact, the Order represents a meaningful step forward in the federal government’s engagement with medical cannabis policy.

ASA provided medical cannabis stakeholders with accurate, timely resources to respond appropriately.

We have always known that if Congress assumes rescheduling “solves” medical cannabis, patients will lose momentum and potentially protections. We are already seeing early warning signs of this.

ASA is here to prevent that outcome. And in 2026, that work has never been more necessary—or more time-sensitive.

In 2026, we will need to staff up to meet the moment. ASA has already started organizing for 2026, but we are seeing increased opposition mounting in DC.
