Hi Friend, this is Alicé, political director at NYCC.

I’m reaching out to ask you to support NYCC with a donation today because your contribution helps us build the power we need to make New York more affordable for all in 2026.

In less than 48 hours, Zohran will be sworn in as New York City mayor. It's going to be a huge celebration for our movement, but we also know January 1st is when the real challenge starts.

The truth is our political system isn’t designed to make it easy to improve people’s lives, even when there’s overwhelming demand for policies like a rent freeze and universal childcare.

The real estate lobby, oil & gas companies, and corporate politicians are going to fight tooth and nail to maintain the political status quo under Zohran’s administration. Why? Because they benefit from it.

And it’s already happening. Earlier this month, Eric Adams–a landlord himself–appointed 4 new members of the Rent Guidelines Board in an attempt to block a rent freeze for 2 million New Yorkers.

The signs are clear: 2026 is going to be an uphill battle, but we’re primed for it. Our movement fought and won tough fights before like Good Cause eviction, banning gas in new building construction, and electing Zohran against the political odds.

Wins like these are only possible because organized people beat organized money. We can take on these corporate lobbyists and politicians, but we need a strong base of organized people and the resources to do it.

That’s why I’m asking you to please join us in building an even stronger base of organized neighbors in 2026 by contributing to our $15K year-end goal. This money goes towards training, materials, and costs to scale up our organizing work. Can you chip in $15 or any amount you can today?

The political tide is changing, Friend. To seize this moment, we have to be more organized than our opposition. That means we need more people, more organization, and more power.

Your contribution today is a huge step toward expanding our power. Please consider contributing today.

Thank you for your time and solidarity,

Alicé Nascimento
