Donate now to fund the fight and your gift will have FIVE TIMES the impact.

We have joined forces with partner organizations Climate Solutions, Earthjustice, and NRDC to file a lawsuit challenging the administration's illegal freeze on $2.5 billion in federal funding for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The lawsuit is the latest in a string of Sierra Club initiatives to advance clean energy, protect the health of our communities and hold elected officials accountable.

We can't do any of this work alone.

Make a donation today to power these urgent efforts and all of our work to build a clean energy future. Right now, it will go five times as far thanks to a special matching gift.

The Trump administration has frozen funding approved by Congress for local and state agencies and tribes to fund crucial community charging and transportation projects. These programs are meant to reduce toxic vehicle pollution, help people get to work and school in clean vehicles, and deliver real benefits to communities that have been overlooked for far too long.
No president gets to ignore Congress or decide which laws apply to them. So we're taking the Trump administration to court.

Will you rush a gift to help us take on the Trump administration in court and win other critical fights, friend?

This decision doesn't just break the law — it hurts real people. When these funds are frozen, projects stall, access is delayed, and communities are left without the charging infrastructure they were promised. 16 states and the District of Columbia have filed their own lawsuits to release the funds.

The harm falls hardest on underserved and rural communities, where reliable, clean transportation can make the biggest difference.

This lawsuit is part of a much bigger push to stop this administration's abuses of power:

⚖️ In the courts: We're filing lawsuits like this one to challenge illegal actions, restore all of the grants the Trump administration has decided to freeze, and fight attempts to claw back investments in clean energy and protections for our shared lands, health, and communities.

🤝 In communities: We're mobilizing members in every state to demand accountability and insist that this administration prioritize everyday people over corporate polluters.

🗳️ In Washington: We're applying steady pressure on lawmakers to uphold the law, block extremist policies, and protect the resources we all share.
