John --

Remember this moment. This is a historic day. Not only for the Muslim community, but America. The FIRST Muslim Civil Rights Bill, the NO BAN Act, just passed in the U.S. House of Representatives. This bill is a refutation of the Trump administration’s racist and xenophobic immigration restrictions which imposes strict limits on the ability of any future president to pass discriminatory immigration restrictions. You can read our full statement on our blog →

We fought hard for this day to come when President Trump first announced his intentions to enact a ban “on all Muslims” during his presidential campaign. We made it this far thanks to our partners and allies in Congress and Civil Society and most importantly, YOU! Without your investment, our critical work to protect the American Muslim community from bigotry would not be possible.

Our fight is far from over. As the bill goes to the Republican-majority Senate, we must turn our attention to the November elections. At MPAC, our next priority is to ensure that our community is prepared and ready to participate in every aspect of the 2020 Elections.  We cannot do that without you!

Today is truly an auspicious start to the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” [Bukhari]. Take this incredible moment to renew your commitment to the Islamic principles of justice and equity.

Together, we will build a future free from fear and bigotry.

Salam Al-Marayati
