I’m reaching out urgently on behalf of my friend and colleague, Mike Levin. In just 24 hours, his final public fundraising report of the year will be released -- and every national Republican group looking to expand their MAGA majority will be studying it closely.

This report won’t just reflect the past few months. It will shape how aggressively outside money floods into CA-49 in the year ahead. It will influence how the GOP targets this district, how they allocate resources, and how early they move to try to flip this seat.

I’ve known Mike since before he flipped this district from red to blue in 2018, and I’ve worked alongside him through some of the most consequential moments our democracy has faced. He is principled, relentless, and unafraid to speak out when our institutions are under attack -- which is exactly why he has become a target.

With new district lines bringing more than 177,000 new voters into CA-49, and only a handful of seats separating control of the House, races like Mike’s will determine whether Congress can serve as a real check on extremism and Trump’s abuse of power.
