Team,
There is no easy way to sum up this year in the fight for reproductive rights in the United States. It was a pivotal year, characterized by both devastating setbacks and moments of powerful resistance. Together, we saw the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.
Help us fight back in 2026 and make it a year with more 'GOOD.' Make your gift to the Center before 12/31 and it will be matched TEN TIMES to help us defend and expand reproductive freedom. [[link removed]]
The Good: "It's a relief to no longer have to turn away patients from essential health care." – Long-time Center client in Arizona, Dr. Paul Isaacson, M.D. of the Family Planning Associates Medical GroupCourts in Arizona and Michigan issued major decisions that removed key barriers to abortion access—including a ban in Arizona that previously criminalized virtually all abortion care after 15 weeks. These victories honored the will of voters who passed constitutional protections for abortion rights.

The Bad: Anti-abortion centers—often called crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs)—have rapidly expanded since Roe v. Wade was overturned, while access to real abortion clinics has shrunk. Today, there are more than 2,600 CPCs nationwide and only 765 abortion clinics.CPCs masquerade as medical clinics to mislead patients and dissuade them from getting abortions. Despite their deceptive appearance, CPCs are not medical facilities. Many operate without licensed medical staff, are not required to follow HIPAA, and face little regulation—putting patients' privacy and safety at risk.

The Ugly: Women are dying because of Texas' abortion bans—while the state continues to escalate attacks on reproductive health care.Even though Texas' abortion bans claim to allow abortion care for "life-threatening" conditions, extreme penalties have created a climate of fear that prevents doctors from acting. A new Texas law, House Bill 7 (HB7), allows private citizens to sue anyone who allegedly manufactures, distributes, mails, or prescribes abortion pills into Texas—the last remaining lifeline for many Texans who cannot travel out of state to access the abortion care they need.
This is cruelty by design, and it is why we will never stop fighting abortion bans and restrictions in Texas and across the country. [[link removed]]
