LEGISLATIVE SOS AND
GUNS IN THE NEWS
The Legislature is set to return to Sacramento on July 27 following an extended summer recess, and although GOC can’t hit the pavement physically (COVID-19 restrictions), we can still let the politicians know where we stand. We are amping up our opposition to some bad legislation, the most noteworthy being SB 914 by anti-gun loyalist Anthony Portantino. This bill is a complex and convoluted mess that will seriously undermine youth shooting programs throughout the state. How so? By mandating that only parents – not a relative, a school or legitimate shooting club – can provide a firearm to anyone under 18. This means that every competitive youth shooter – or kid that wants to go hunting with a grandparent – will not be able to use any firearm unless it’s provided by the parents. This will literally gut high school shooting teams in the state. But will it put a chill on “gun violence?” You know the answer to that. The bill will be heard on August 3rd; to contact the members of the Assembly Public Safety Committee, click HERE.
In other NEWS, read how shooting victims are stacking up in Chicago, and follow that with the Washington Post’s propaganda about the rise in crime: they blame it on the LAW ABIDING! That’s right, those who have legally bought guns in the past few months are responsible for the crime surge – and the Post even said it was fueled by racism. We call bull. What an ugly, nasty lie.
