John, this is Adam Schiff.

I’ve spent my career standing up to corruption, even when it’s politically risky. I’ve prosecuted cases. I’ve led investigations and spoken hard truths when it mattered most. Like when I led Trump’s first impeachment. Or served on the January 6th Committee.

And I have to be honest — this is one of the most challenging times of my entire career.

Donald Trump is threatening our constitutional right to freedom of speech, undermining the rule of law, and chipping away at Americans’ trust in our institutions.

Attacks are mounting against anyone who speaks out against this administration — whether you’re a current or former elected official, a journalist, a comedian or an ordinary citizen.

And with Republicans in control of both the House and Senate, there are simply not enough checks and balances to stop the rampant corruption and lawlessness.

So like I said, this is a very scary time — but not a time to back down.

The GOP wants to overwhelm us and keep us from acting. But when we come together, we’re not powerless. We can organize, mobilize, and reclaim our country.
