As Project HOPE’s Chief Development and Communications Officer, I work every day to grow support and expand our reach in communities around the world. It’s a responsibility that means so much to me — because I’ve seen firsthand just how deeply your generosity changes lives.

Earlier this year, I visited Ukrainian refugees living in group housing in Poland. Many are mothers who once had full support systems back home — but are now caring for children with disabilities entirely on their own. For them, even the briefest moments of rest are rare.

But when our Project HOPE counselors arrive, everything changes.

I watched children’s faces light up as they greeted familiar members of our team — people they’ve come to know and trust. For their mothers, those few hours of art therapy and counseling meant everything. It was often the only time they could tend to their own mental health — to take a shower, breathe, and gather strength to face another day.
