2025 is almost in the books and we wanted to take this December newsletter to highlight some of the larger accomplishments and news from this past year.
“The success of North Star Promise is truly remarkable,” Office of Higher Education (OHE) Commissioner Dennis Olson said. “By investing in our students and eliminating the financial barrier of tuition, we are making college possible for more Minnesotans. This preliminary report shows that in the first year of implementation, we exceeded projections for how many people would benefit from the program. I believe North Star Promise is playing a key role in the positive enrollment trends happening across the state and look forward to seeing more students benefit during the 2025-26 school year.”
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education announced the 2025 recipients of the Dual Training Grant. In total, $5,044,000 was awarded to 80 Minnesota businesses. The funds will allow companies in high-demand industries to fund dual training programs for 902 employees.
Additional Grant Highlights:
Over 37,000 students will be eligible to receive proactive admissions from Minnesota colleges thanks to over 245 high schools from across the state participating in the OHE’s Direct Admissions Minnesota Program. This represents an increase of over 60 schools from the 2024-25 school year.
