Dear Friends,

As we head into 2026, we are excited about the possibilities for growing and supporting independent documentary and the audiences that are served by them. There has been a lot of change in our industry recently, but also a lot of opportunity. We are thankful for you, our friends and supporters, who have been a part of the AmDoc community, and who share our dedication to the power of documentaries..

While much of our core programmatic work remains unchanged, we continue to redefine our programs with the purpose of making sure that access to quality film is available to all and based on our strong curatorial standards, not government whims. We are poised to expand our impact, our reach, our investment in filmmakers, and our say in just what this media landscape should look like.

This is what we owe our audiences and our filmmakers. As American Documentary actively increases our efforts to shift the landscape of what public media can and should do, we need partners who believe in the power we can all have together.
