Teachers shouldn't have to live in survival mode. Teaching during this gun violence epidemic means we live in two worlds: one where we foster learning, and another where we map out escape routes. It is a weight that no teacher should have to carry.
Teachers Unify to End Gun Violence was founded by educators who know this weight personally. We believe that safety shouldn't depend on a teacher’s courage in a crisis; it should depend on our leaders’ and our country’s commitment to prevention.
