Hi there, friend.
You’re probably going to get a lot of emails this week from candidates all over the country asking you for money.
And I won’t fake it: This is one of those emails. BUT… I promise, this is not like the others.
Because here’s the thing: we’re not just trying to win a campaign. We’re trying to change how people see politics. I’m the first meteorologist elected to Congress in 50 years, and the first out LGBTQ+ federal representative in Illinois history. That’s not just fun facts (though I’m a big fan of facts, because they matter!), but my experience shapes the work I do every day in Washington.
When we talk about climate, we’re not repeating talking points, we’re leading with facts and science. When we talk to voters, we’re not fearmongering, we’re building real conversations with people across the political spectrum.
A farmer once told me, “I can’t believe I found a Democrat who makes sense.”
I’ll take it.
We’ve built this campaign on truth and trust. No fake goals. No panic-for-clicks. Just a clear-eyed plan to protect health care, lower prescription costs, tackle climate change, and keep this critical seat blue in 2026.
But we can’t do that without grassroots support. And with a major deadline approaching, we need to show that our campaign is as strong and people-powered as ever.
Chip in here to support our campaign before the final FEC deadline ahead of our election! Whether it’s $10, $25, or whatever feels right, every contribution helps keep this movement going.
