John,
Millions of Americans are unemployed, about to lose supplemental unemployment benefits, and under threat of eviction.
And apparently Mitch McConnell thinks it’s all pretty funny.
McConnell may think the pandemic is a big joke, but it’s no laughing matter for millions of regular Americans.
According to the latest data, the pandemic is hitting working Americans like a tsunami:
51 million+ unemployed
30 million+ about to lose $600 supplemental unemployment benefits
28 million+ under threat of eviction
With the Senate debating final terms of the next COVID-19 relief package, SO MUCH is on the line.
But Mitch has been intentionally delaying the bill!
The House passed the HEROES Act way back in May to protect everyday Americans by extending supplemental unemployment insurance, keeping the federal eviction moratorium in place, and sending direct payments to individuals and families - but supplemental unemployment benefits and the federal eviction moratorium both expire at the end of this month!
Apparently McConnell thinks he can get away with hurting millions of struggling Americans. He spent all June confirming right-wing judges, then went on vacation.
Thank you for all you do,
HAZMAT America
