Friend,
As a committed member of UNCF's mission, you already know, as we do, that “A mind is a terrible thing to waste."®
But as we approach the end of 2025—and our $250,000 year-end goal deadline—do you fully understand the life-changing impact your generosity can make for students aspiring to get their degrees at HBCUs?

FACT: At a time when college is more important—and more expensive—than ever, your support allows our 37 member HBCUs to offer students a world-class education while keeping their average tuition about 34% lower than comparable institutions.
FACT: As the largest minority education organization in the country, UNCF provides more than 11,000 exceptional students from low- and moderate-income families with over $62 million in scholarships every year, thanks to your support. This ensures they can pay for tuition, textbooks and housing expenses without losing focus on their education.
FACT: With significant cuts to Pell Grants and caps on Parent PLUS loans planned in 2026, many of our students will be facing the real possibility that they’ll be unable to afford to continue their college journey without us.
FACT: In turn, your support drives a 70% graduation rate for our scholarship recipients. That’s 11% higher than the national average and nearly twice that of all African American students.
Knowledge is power, FirstName—so now that you’ve got the facts, will you please help us keep up the streak in 2026 and empower even more talented students with the support to succeed by making a tax-deductible gift before the end of 2025?

Because with time running out for us to reach our $250,000 year-end goal by midnight, Dec. 31—tomorrow night—our students need you now more than ever:
Starting in 2026, major cuts to federal financial aid will devastate students across the country. That includes 70% of our students, who rely on federal grants and loans to get through college and change the trajectory of their lives. For many of them, these new, heightened barriers will mean the difference between continuing their education or dropping out.
It’s imperative that we prepare in advance for the critical funding gaps that will arise in the new year so that our students can keep their eyes on the prize. And it starts by making up the 22% shortfall to our year-end goal while there’s still time.
Please, don’t wait to ensure our students enter the new year with the critical resources they need to access a quality education and thrive. Make your year-end tax-deductible donation to UNCF before the ball drops tomorrow at midnight.

Thank you,

P.S. If you have already made a gift to UNCF this season, please accept our sincere gratitude and appreciation. Your gift will change real lives. Happy holidays!
