We have a chance to flip a Texas Senate seat, and that's because MJ Hegar won her primary earlier this month and is officially taking on Senator John Cornyn this fall.

Right now, John Cornyn's approval rating is an abysmal 29%. Which makes sense, because he spends most of his time stopping any progress in the Senate, ignoring his constituents, and making snarky and snide remarks on Twitter. Talk about a senator who needs to retire already.

MJ Hegar served three tours in Afghanistan, and has a history of working across the aisle to make progress -- like when she brought together a bipartisan coalition to take on the Pentagon and open ground combat positions to women in the military. That's who Texans need in the Senate.
