This year, we helped power a series of massive wins at the ballot box. In Wisconsin, New York, Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia, and Mississippi, we saw MAGA candidates lose up and down the ballot. In special elections in red, blue, and purple districts, Democrats delivered historic overperformances. The backlash from voters was so strong that dozens of Republican Members of Congress are considering retirement instead of re-election.

But the ultimate electoral test will come in next year’s midterms. So, as you think about your resolutions for 2026, we want to share ours: We’re going to take the House, the Senate, governorships, and state legislatures all over the country. We’re going to build the largest midterm margins against the incumbent party that this country has ever seen. We’re going to use those majorities to finally hold this lawless regime accountable.

And the work to make this happen is already underway. We’re building out our endorsement processes, surveying group leaders and Indivisibles about the candidates they’re most excited to support, mapping out the GOTV tactics we’ll deploy next year, and implementing the lessons we’ve learned from this year’s elections.

In the coming weeks, we’ll have more ways for you to plug into our election campaign work, but right now, we hope you can pitch in to fund our organizing and start off 2026 in the strongest position possible.

Our path to victory in the midterms starts with the largest Democratic primary program in Indivisible’s history. It’s not enough to just win in November -- we need to elect members of Congress who will use the power we give them to fight for us and for our democracy. We need leaders who are prepared to hold the regime accountable and enact meaningful checks on Trump from the second they swear in their new majority in 2027.

Our primary program is a grassroots process. Decisions on where we invest resources and which fights we take up will be guided by Indivisible groups and members and they will have direct input on the candidates we endorse. We’ll back up those endorsements with resources to get out the vote and elect the fighters our members are rallying behind.

Running the largest primary campaign in Indivisible’s history and committing to get out the vote for whoever wins the primaries takes a ton of resources and organizing power. With the first primaries happening in just a few months, there’s no time to wait.
