Hey — I hate to be a nuisance so close to the New Year, but I needed to reach out.

In 48 hours, we’re facing our biggest fundraising deadline of the year. And right now, we’re still $2,941 away from hitting our End-of-Year goal. Can you help us catch up? This is no ordinary fundraising deadline, so we can’t fall short.

Listen, I know you’re probably getting a lot of emails from a lot of campaigns right now. And I know that if you donated to every single one of those emails, you’d probably drain your bank account.

So let me take a moment to explain why I’m asking you to donate off of this email:

• Unlike a lot of other members of Congress, I can’t make up the difference from my own pocket if we fall short of our goals. That’s how things go when you come from a working-class family and have beat the odds to get here.


• I represent the most competitive Democratic district in Colorado — but if we slip up here in CO-07? We can kiss any chance of a Democratic House majority goodbye.


• Finally, I’m asking for your support because I’m willing to bet we share a lot of the same values. We believe in an economy that puts regular people first, not the wealthy and well-connected. We believe in LGBTQ+ rights, abortion rights, and the hope that our democracy can — and will — withstand Donald Trump and his lawless administration.

If any of those reasons convince you, I hope you’ll consider making a grassroots donation to Team Pettersen before the end of the year. We have to defend every last Democratic seat if we want to take back Congress — and that starts right here in Colorado.
