Here’s an update from our campaign:
** Year in Review
------------------------------------------------------------
We are almost one year into President Trump's second term. Here are some of the wins Republicans have delivered over the last 12 months:
Lowering Costs for Working Families
Runaway government spending and burdensome regulations from Joe Biden drove up costs on working families. This year, we’ve made progress making life more affordable, but there is still more work to do. Here are some of the ways I’m working to make life more affordable for you:
* Prevented a $1,500 tax increase on working families
* Created a new $6,000 deduction ([link removed]) for low- and middle-income seniors
* Expanded and made permanent the child tax credit to $2,200 ([link removed])
* Reduced taxes on tips and overtime ([link removed])
* Repealed $550 billion ([link removed]) in wasteful government spending
* Held states accountable ([link removed]) for erroneous payments for government programs like SNAP
+ States make $13 billion a year in erroneous SNAP payments
* Implemented work requirements ([link removed]) for able-bodied, childless adults of 80 hours a month to receive government benefits
Lowering Energy Costs
Biden’s Green New Deal agenda increased energy costs on working families and seniors. This year, I’ve worked with my colleagues to bring down energy costs for working families.
* Passed legislation ([link removed]) to unleash American energy by:
+ Increasing domestic energy production
+ Ensuring at least 36 new oil and gas leases to help lower costs
+ Protecting consumer energy choice and stopping costly fossil fuel bans
* Passed the SPEED Act ([link removed]) and PERMIT Act ([link removed]) to remove red tape and permitting delays for energy projects
+ Current federal permitting timelines average 4.5 years
+ Unlocks more than $1 trillion in energy projects nationwide
* Helped reduce gas prices to their lowest level since 2020 ([link removed])

Securing our Border
Four years of disastrous policies under the Biden Administration left our border open and made our communities less secure. This year, we’ve made significant progress securing our border and addressing the drug and human trafficking crisis at our Southern Border.
* Invested $46.5 billion ([link removed]) to build and modernize the wall, hire 8,000 new border and customs agents, and support counter-narcotic efforts
* Passed into law the Laken Riley Act ([link removed]) to detain criminal illegal aliens accused of crimes involving bodily harm, burglary, assaulting law enforcement, or murder
* Oversaw the lowest levels ([link removed]) of illegal immigration in decades
+ Just 245 illegal crossings ([link removed]) per day at the SW border, a 95% reduction compared to the Biden Administration
+ Seven straight months of zero illegal immigrants released ([link removed]) into the U.S.

Working for our Veterans
We must protect our Veterans’ earned benefits. Here are a few ways I am working to help support our veterans:
* Secured more than $430 billion ([link removed]) in veterans funding to fully fund veterans’ benefits
+ Includes $52.7 billion in the Toxic Exposure Fund to help veterans exposed to environmental hazards
Responsible Government and Election Integrity
Americans should have faith in their elected officials. I am working to secure our elections and make government more accountable to working families.
* Spearheaded legislation ([link removed]) to ensure noncitizens do not vote in U.S. elections
* Introduced legislation ([link removed]) to prevent members from Congress from receiving pay during government shutdowns
* Leading efforts to ban members of Congress ([link removed]) from trading stocks
* Investigating potential campaign finance fraud ([link removed]) and foreign donation schemes
[link removed]
Codifying Executive Actions
* Codified more than 70 executive orders to make life more affordable, reduce red tape, secure our border, and protect our communities
We made a lot of progress these past 12 months. I look forward to building on our work in the New Year.
Happy New Year
I hope you and your family have a happy New Year!
