Hello there,
The United States Postal Services is saving lives, from delivering medications to social security checks.
But the Republican Party is ready to let USPS go bankrupt.
First, Donald Trump put a top donor with no Postal Service experience in charge of the agency.
Then, Trump and his crony (Louis DeJoy) started forcing their destructive agenda onto USPS. The Week reports that DeJoy “has limited overtime, instructed mail carriers to leave mail behind that will slow down their delivery routes, and required that they park no more than four times along their delivery routes. Trump, meanwhile, has demanded the USPS quadruple its rates on packages.”
Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is holding aid to USPS hostage until he gains control of the Postal Service’s operations.
In short, Republicans are destroying the country’s most popular agency -- and eliminating the only way millions of Americans will have to receive correspondence, lifesaving medication, and vote-by-mail ballots this election.
With your help, we can give USPS the support it needs. And we can save the treasured American agency -- along with its 600,000 employees -- from being bankrupt by September.
But we can’t do it without you.
If you condemn the way the GOP is treating USPS like a punching bag -- if you hate the idea of our Postal Service being used for political gain -- and if you demand that Americans have their right to vote by mail protected before this election, then please, add your name to ours now. >> [link removed]
