The House just passed the first Muslim civil rights bill.
Will you help us make it the law of the land?

Dear Friend,

Today is historic. Just now, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the NO BAN Act to end the Muslim Ban — it’s the first time in American history that any chamber of Congress has passed a bill to specifically protect the rights of American Muslims!

This is how history is made. It’s the late-night phone calls, last-minute policy research, and around-the-clock organizing of meetings, briefings, and coalitions. As several members of Congress noted during the debate on the House floor today, it was Muslim Advocates and the NO BAN Act Coalition driving this work. Additionally, so many of you have spoken out, contacted your members of Congress, and invested in our work on Capitol Hill to get this bill drafted, sponsored, and passed.

Please, will you help us with the next step, Senate passage? Your donation will ensure that we can keep making history together.

With your support and the work of countless partners, in particular the NO BAN Act Coalition, we were able to accomplish the following:

  • 54,376 messages sent by constituents to their members of Congress through our digital actions.
  • 400+ civil rights, faith-based, national security, and community organizations joined together repeatedly in letters, calls and meetings to urge Congress to pass the NO BAN Act.
  • 100+ civil rights, community and faith-based organizations came together by Muslim Advocates under the NO BAN Act Coalition and led this effort.
  • 219 House members joined Rep. Judy Chu as cosponsors of the NO BAN Act after a serious and sustained education and campaign effort by the NO BAN Act Coalition.
  • 12+ corporations, including Postmates, Airbnb, Uber, Twitter, and Eventbrite, responded to our request to publicly call for passage of the NO BAN Act.

That’s just a sliver of how change happens and what your investment buys. Can you chip in to help?

In addition, and very importantly, your support allowed Muslim Advocates to:

  • Reach over 4.5 million people with our Know-Your-Rights videos, fact sheets, and infographics shared through social media.
  • Organize a meeting between Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Muslim community leaders to discuss key issues affecting the American Muslim community, including the Muslim ban, and urged her to support and prioritize a vote for the NO BAN Act.
  • Testify at the sole House hearing on the Muslim Ban along with our client who was separated from his family in Yemen.
  • Host multiple briefings for the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, Congressional Progressive Caucus, as well as for the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees, in preparation for the Muslim Ban Congressional hearing and other important milestones for the bill.
  • Co-organize two major press conferences with Members of Congress and affected community members covered by major news outlets like the Washington Post, Vogue, and Vox.

But our job is not yet done. Now, we need your support to get the NO BAN Act passed in the Senate and ultimately signed into law, so we can reunite millions of American families. Will you invest in this vision by making a gift today?

Our work depends on people like you who believe that American Muslims, and all Americans, deserve to live in a country free of hate and discrimination. Today’s historic win is proof that we’re getting closer to an America that lives up to its ideals.

Thank you for dreaming, believing, and fighting for a better America!
