Dear friend,
“This is our life’s work.”
That is what Olivia, a long-term donor, shared when asked about why she gives and organizes in solidarity with Grassroots International.
As we launched our Solidarity Philanthropy framework earlier this year, members of our donor community were critical in offering living examples of what it looks like to practice solidarity philanthropy. As showcased in our framework, examples include funders and donors:
* participating in the 3rd Nyéléni Global Forum to advance food sovereignty,
* organizing in solidarity with Palestine, and
* supporting the International Feminist Organizing School to advance grassroots feminisms.
Olivia shared,
Grassroots International is not afraid to look itself in the mirror, and encourages donors to do the same. They understand that for philanthropy to act in consistent solidarity with movements on the frontlines building shared futures in the cracks of capitalism , we need to foster a robust movement of funder networks and individual donors who are bringing that same dedication to dismantling the structures that they benefit from. This is not a one-time donation; this is our life's work .
Our donors are critical to expanding the practice of solidarity philanthropy so that we can together organize the philanthropic sector into an active community for movement support and a force for resource redistribution.

This year, the generosity of our supporters like you [[link removed]] has led to:
* 700+ leaders from 102 countries representing 300 million small-scale farmers, fisherfolk, pastoralists and others coming together to advance the food sovereignty movement
* 600,000 Haitian peasants organizing to advance agroecology
* 1.3 million people receiving medical aid from our partners in Gaza since October 2023
Will you join us to build shared futures in the cracks of capitalism?
As another donor, Becky, shares,
The work of calling in philanthropy to a different way of being that is aligned and part and parcel of the power-building that is happening across the world is very much needed in a long-term vision of the world that we’re in. It’s a really powerful leadership moment that I’ve found exciting about Grassroots International’s work this year.
The work of donors like Olivia and Becky has been so critical to advancing solidarity philanthropy.
Join us in this life’s work today.

PS: Becky shares further, “Part of why we support Grassroots International is to support an international network that weaves together a history, and present, of resisting fascism. The depth of learning and strength of this network is a crucial part of fighting for all of our freedom. " Will you strengthen our movements for liberation by joining us [[link removed]] ?
