As coronavirus cases surge in South Carolina, Governor McMaster continues pushing public schools to reopen for full-time, in-person instruction.

Educators, parents, school districts, and medical experts are deeply concerned about McMaster’s reckless reopening decision. The governor has no clear plan to keep students and teachers safe -- but he won’t allow school districts to decide whether to reopen based on their communities’ needs.

McMaster is playing partisan games with the health of students and teachers. 

The Trump administration’s failed leadership has made the U.S. a global COVID-19 hotspot, just as McMaster’s forced reopening and refusal to mandate mask-wearing has made South Carolina a top state for COVID-19 cases.

McMaster may have won VP Mike Pence’s stamp of approval during yesterday’s visit, but South Carolinians are fed up with Republicans’ failed leadership. If you disapprove of Trump and South Carolina Republicans’ bungled pandemic response, will you chip in $20.20 to help us fight back?
