Friend, in a high-stakes, competitive race like this, it’s easy to get sidetracked by the numbers – whether it's the newest polling or our latest fundraising goal.  

But right now, I want us to take just a minute to remember everything we're fighting for and why our Senate race in Ohio is so important. 

I've spent my whole life fighting for the Dignity of Work: the idea that all work has dignity and that it should pay off for everyone. Whether you punch a clock or swipe a badge, earn a salary or make tips, are caring for children or an aging parent, I will always fight for you.

And I’m more determined than ever to get back to the Senate and do my part to fix our rigged system, which benefits billionaires and big corporations and makes working people pay the price. Folks are crying out for change, and we must deliver it.

But here's the truth: I need you with me to wage a fight this big and win. Will you chip in $5 or more now to help me hit my $250,000 end-of-quarter goal before the final FEC deadline of the year?

With polls showing me ahead of my Republican opponent by a slim margin, we can win here in Ohio. In fact, experts at The Cook Political Report have increased our odds of flipping this seat.

But it’s still going to be an uphill battle, friend. Jon Husted and his corporate interest allies will spend millions to defeat me – and the attack ads have already started.

That's why I have to bring us back to the numbers for a minute.

You see, reaching big end-of-quarter fundraising goals is a must if we’re going to fight back against the GOP’s attacks and surge ahead. And right now, we’re closing in on a crucial FEC deadline, and we’re not on track to hit our goal.

So I’m personally asking: Will you chip in $5 or more now to ensure we have the resources to bring our fight for working people to the Senate? I simply can't flip this seat without your grassroots support.
