When people ask me what they can do to make a meaningful difference right now, almost always, this is my answer: pick a race and get involved.
And today, I'm reaching out to ask you to chip in to my friend Sen. Gary Peters' race in Michigan if you're able.
Spending against Gary has already reached $7 million, including $2.8 million from the NRSC, $800,000 from a super PAC with ties to Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos' family, and millions of dollars from Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Even President Trump has thrown his support behind Gary's opponent.
Gary needs a strong foundation of grassroots support to keep up in a race as expensive as this. If you're in a position to chip in a few dollars, please split a contribution between Gary's campaign and mine today.
Gary's opponent said he's "2,000%" behind Trump.
Gary is all in for Michigan, and he has been for decades.
Gary is fighting to protect health care for 1.7 million Michiganders, defend protections for pre-existing conditions, and lower the cost of prescription drugs. He's a longtime advocate for combating climate change so we can protect the Great Lakes and access to clean water. And during this health crisis, Gary's fighting to support frontline workers, secure resources for health care providers, and provide unemployment benefits for workers who have lost their jobs.
We can't afford to lose Gary's leadership in the Senate.
This grassroots team has stepped up time and again to support Democrats on the ballot -- together, we've raised more than $600,000 for Senate candidates this cycle! Now, I'm asking you to harness that same grassroots energy for Gary. If you can, will you split a contribution between his campaign and mine?
