Sheldon’s teen years were marked by involvement in selling drugs, a path that could have had lifelong consequences. Thanks to diversion programs and supportive policies informed by research and advocacy, he gained the chance to reflect and make better choices.
Now, Sheldon teaches these skills to other youth affected by gun violence in Baltimore. “I call this righting my wrongs,” he says.
